In the Dark
Dee Dee O'Donnell, 22, is at a local night club on a Saturday Night in October. She is alone, drinking rum and cokes, at the bar.
She is invited by a young man, Dennis O'Day, to join him in celebrating his birthday and drink Champaign provided by the club because it’s his 21st birthday and he is legal. She agrees.
They drink all night and she asks him to drive her home. He agrees and drives her. When they arrive at her apartment building she invites him to her apartment for a cup of coffee. He agrees.
They went up to her apartment to have coffee and conversation. He tells her that he just got out of the Navy and is joining the Electricians Union. She tells him that she had just graduated from college and is now the assistant manager at a local branch of Bank of America.
He asks her if she wants to make love. She says yes and tells him that it will be her first time and asks him to be gentle. They spend the rest of the early morning in bed and after making love they both fall in love with each other.
